There are so many things to like about this song. The atonal violin, the O Superman-like repetition of “Friday”, the super funky organ solo in the middle, just the way the song sounds, it’s great.
Like many, I first became aware of Deus because of Beavis and Butthead, and I thought the song was really freaky, and really, really cool. I also have to strongly recommend this album, Worst Case Scenario.
I have no idea what this song is about, but if I had to guess, I’d say it was an acid trip. The lyrics have that disjointed feeling, and the instruments bring everything together in a claustrophobic, psychedelic mish-mash.
